Tasting - Crosskey’s Vinyards Chardonnay

Name:  Crosskey’s Vinyards Chardonnay
Variety:  Chardonnay
Region: Mt. Crawford, Virginia
Country: USA
Year: 2014
Price: $21.50
CrossKey’s Vineyard’s Review:  Fermented in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels.  Pleasant bouquet of pea, white flowers, and vanilla.  Has a clean acidity and rich mouth-feel that makes it a perfect complement to light seafood or roasted poultry dishes.

My Review:  This Chardonnay had a strong oaky and vanilla aroma.  The light lemon color of the wine was very pleasing to the yet.  This is a medium bodied dry wine with a buttery finish.  It had a mineral taste that was very refreshing. It has well balanced Chardonnay with a touch of acidity and a tart finish.  Pleasant tastes of green apple and vanilla made my mouth come alive.   I did not have any food with this Chardonnay, but feel it would pair excellent with a flaky white fish, sliced green apples or chicken.  I would highly recommend this delicious Chardonnay!
